Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is a Victorian-inspired hotel on the grounds of the Walt Disney World Resort. It is the property’s flagship hotel and features luxury accommodations, several dining options and a variety of hotel amenities, all just minutes away from all of the Disney theme parks.

The hotel is located on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon. The hotel’s lobby is five stories high and feature two sparkling chandeliers. The architecture of the resort is one of its main attractions.

The hotel offer views of the Magic Kingdom’s evening fireworks display, Cinderella’s Castle, the wedding pavilion, the lagoon, the pool and the marina. Surrounding the hotel are landscaped grounds that are perfect for a morning jog or an evening stroll.

Guestrooms feature cable television with Disney programming, coffee makers, refrigerators, hair dryers, robes, ironing equipment, newspaper delivery and high-speed Internet access. Laundry facilities are available and guests enjoy the use of Pack ‘n Play Playards upon request.

The hotel features a world-class spa, a fitness facility, two pools and six restaurants. There are also activities for the children, including a game room, a children’s pool and the special Wonderland Tea Party for kids age four through 12. The Mouseketeer Club is offered for children ages three through 12 and is an activity center with adult supervision, providing babysitting so parents can enjoy some time alone.

In addition to the Tea Party and the Mouseketeer Club, parents have the option of using the services of Kids Nite Out. They offer in-room, one-on-one childcare so adults can enjoy vacation time while children are safe and comfortable in their guestroom with experienced, qualified supervision.

The hotel offers just as much for business travelers as it does for those visiting Orlando for recreation. The Grand Floridian is home to 40,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space. The space is divided between two large ballrooms and more than a dozen breakout rooms. Guests have access to high-speed wireless Internet, a sound system, a business center and fax, copy and mail services.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Spa is the ideal place to take a break from the amusement park fun and relax for a few hours. The spa offers a variety of packages that include soaks, massage, wraps, manicures, pedicures, facials and body therapies. Spa services are available for children as young as four and many of the products used in the facility are offered for sale in the Spa Boutique. Guests interested in salon services can visit the Ivy Trellis Salon, located on the hotel’s mezzanine floor.

Guests can enjoy working out at the Grand Floridian Health Club. The club offers personal training services, as well as access to treadmills, upright and recumbent cycles, stair climbers, elliptical cross trainers and free weights.

In addition to access to several onsite amenities, guests enjoy special privileges at a variety of nearby attractions. Grand Floridian guests have preferred access at all five of the golf courses located on the grounds of the Walt Disney World Resort. They can also enjoy the use of onsite tennis courts, bike rentals, watercraft rentals, cabana rentals and access to the one-mile jogging and walking trail around the Seven Seas Lagoon.

The hotel offers concierge services that can help with dinner reservations, show tickets and park admission passes. Disney can feel overwhelming, especially for first-time visitors, so concierge services are a great comfort.

Parking is available onsite for those with private or rental vehicle. Guests of the hotel have access to shuttle service to and from the theme parks, as well as the Orlando National Airport.

The hotel offers a variety of dining options including 1900 Park Fare, Victoria and Albert’s, Gasparilla Grille and Games, Narcoossee’s, Citricos, the Garden View Tea Room, Mizner’s Lounge and the Grand Floridan Café. 1900 Park Fare is the home of the Grand Floridian’s famous character dining experiences. Guests can choose from Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner or the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast.

Gasparilla’s is an arcade in addition to offering casual dining. The facility is open 24 hours and offers popular video and arcade games, as well as a full menu.

Guests can choose from a variety of rooms and suites. Room prices start around $400. Rates are pricey, but remember you are close to the theme parks and enjoy free transportation, as well as a variety of Disney amenities not found at other hotels.
